The 140.6 mile Vichy IRONMAN

On Sunday 27th August, Max Rusby, Ollie Bunting and James Stourton will each attempt to complete the 140.6 mile Vichy IRONMAN; swimming 2.4 miles, cycling 112 miles, and finally running 26.2 miles. Providing all goes to plan, we will start the race at 6.00 am and will hope to finish at any time before 11.59pm. Although we aim to finish the race in under 13 hours, for three ‘men’ who necessitate an exceedingly loose use of the term ‘athlete’, the idea of 13 hours continuous exercise is somewhat ominous. Sir Thomas’s 20 Mile Nidderdale Walk for PPR

On Sunday 7th May Sir Thomas will be doing the 20 mile Nidderdale Walk to raise money for the PPR Foundation and thereby fund more research into brain tumours. The walk starts in Ripley and follows the NIdd up to Glasshouses before climbing the hill up to Brimham Rocks and returning via Bishop Thornton and Shaw Mills. An eight hour walk with a couple of decent climbs is a good test of stamina and he just hopes that it doesn’t rain all day!
